Annual Outdoor Events
In February, Dawson City serves as a checkpoint for the Yukon Quest.

For three weekends in February & March, the Trek Over the Top takes over the Top Of The World Highway.  Snowmobilers travel from Tok, Alaska, to Dawson City & participate in a poker run en route.

In early June, Dawson City hosts the Weekend on the Wing, Birding Festival. Naturalists, bird enthusiasts, & biologists lead trips in all directions. Camping gear, binoculars, & hiking boots are a necessity.

On July 1st, Dawson City plays host to the Yukon Gold Panning Championships. Cheechakos and professionals from the Yukon and around the world participate in the time trials and the finals.
