Wildlife viewing and rafting are just two of the many options to enjoy in the region encompassing the territorial capital. 

The world's longest wooden fish ladder is located at Whitehorse & is open from June 1 through September 1st. A viewing chamber gives visitor the opportunity to see Chinook salmon on their 2,360 mile (3,800 km) migration.

The Yukon Wildlife Preserve is less than a half hour north of Whitehorse on Takhini Hot Springs Road. Guided bus tours allow visitors to view ten major species of norhtern mammals including musk ox.

Whitehorse also is home to a variety of annual outdoor events.
